Nokia N900 gets community firmware update PR 1.3.3.7-1

Nokia N900 receives it’s first community firmware update PR 1.3.3.7-1.This updates fixes some bugs which were present after official PR 1.3 firmware update.This update brings one new feature now you can use status menu in portrait mode also.

According to community this update is for-

Long-term: all N900 users/owners.

For now: power-users, developers, Nokia/Maemo/MeeGo engineers, testers, documentation writers and those willing to risk a re-flash in order to help.

Follow these steps to update firmware

To install PR 1.3.3.7-1 on your mobile make sure you have PR 1.3 (20.2010.36) installed

visit Community SSU Page from your N900

Click Install Testing

application manager will open

add the catalog

Now install the Community SSU enabler

after installing close application manager

open menu and launch Community SSU

x-terminal will open now

next application manager will start and you will see new Maeno 5 update (2.24MB)

Download and install the update

Reboot mobile after updating

I have N900 and I am not sure how to use this.

Now I try to install some applicaions like blessn900 but shows conflict with Maemo 5(3.2010.02-8.003) & libqt..please help wat should i do???????????

Can you post the exact error message you are getting?or better post a screenshot.

I had this conflicts too. & libqt when i tried to install some other applications. i was unable to call *100# (credit ballance ) too. i re-flashed my phone and after that i install the catalogues again and i have no problem since then. visit http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/N900-How-to-update-software-and-Reset-ALL-data/m-p/591877

is not necessary to format the mass memory. skip it if you have problems.(install rootsh and type the command in xterminal for formatting the mass memory: sudo gainroot *enter* mkfs.vfat -n MyDocs /dev/mmcblk0p1)

* backup needed * I have problems. when i want to install maemo 5 community ssu package it makes me do backup of my phone. i did it but i cannot go forward of this need. i open the application manager over and over but doesn’t stop to ask me about the backup. what should i do?

Hi, I have tried installing android on my n900 but after the first process where you have to type “cd/home/user/MyDocs” in the x terminal, I keep getting the response “cd/home/user/MyDocs” not found. Someone please help me out. What next???

Hi, you have to add a space between cd and /home/user/MyDocs. Copy paste this code
