In my previous post I’ve shared How To Install Ubuntu 11.04 Inside Windows without CD or USB Flash Drive .Today I’m going to show you how to create live bootable USB flash drive and install Ubuntu from USB flash drive. There are two advantages of creating bootable USB flash drive.First- you may not want to burn a Ubuntu CD as new version of Ubuntu is released very fast,2 times a year.Secondly now a days everyone has more than one USB  flash drives so it will be easier to find an extra flash drive and use it as live Ubuntu CD.I’ve used the term ‘live’ because you can run Ubuntu directly from USB flash drive and test it without installing on your hard disk.Keeping a bootable USB flash drive can be useful when your Windows OS is not starting and you want to move some important files from one partition to another.

Things you need–

In this tutorial I’ll use Unetbootin,a small tool which creates bootable USB flash drive.Download Ubuntu and Unetbootin and start Unetbootin. In Unetbootin select Diskimage and select the .iso file.

Select Drive litter of USB flash drive(be careful) and finally click “OK”

Now it will start extracting Ubuntu image to flash drive. It will take around 5 min.

When everything is complete reboot pc and start BIOS (usually by pressing F1, F2, F12, ESC).In BIOS select USB flash drive as first boot device, save setting and exit.During next reboot computer will boot from USB flash drive. There you will find option to install Ubuntu or run Ubuntu without installing it.
