Smartphones are becoming the most commonly used type of mobile device. These mobile phones are much more than a device through which to place a call: they are becoming pocket sized computers {Remember Samsung Note}. One aspect of smartphones that is unique is their ability to use what are known as apps. These applications are essentially computer programs designed to work on the smartphone. Computer programs are designed to work with specific operating systems, and the same is true for smartphone apps. Like we have different versions of same adobe photoshop for Windows as well as Mac, we also have different apps for different mobile operating system like Android, iOS, blackberry. Depending upon the operating system your phone uses, a certain app store will need to be used. The two top app stores right now are Android and Apple.

Android Market:
The Android App Market {Now google Play} provides a large number of apps to choose from. With over 6 Lakh apps in the market store, this is one of the largest databse of appsin the mobile operating system history. This app market is open for anyone to add their app, though they charge some nominal fees of 29$ but after that you can add as many as you can think of. For this reason, the choice is quite large. Android-powered phones are also able to obtain apps from other spin-off app stores such as the Amazon Appstore and some freemium 3rd party sites like 4shared. Android apps make it easy to customise one’s phones to your liking.

Since the Android App Market is open, this means there isn’t a lot of oversight as to the functionality of apps. Some apps may not work or have a nasty virus. While the majority of apps are fine, there is still the opportunity for ‘malware’ to be processed and downloaded onto your phone, so its better to install some sort of mobile operating system anti virus softwares like Norton or bit defender.
Apple Store:

Apple’s App Store for iOS allows users to download apps right to their phones. Of all the app stores, this one has the most apps by an overwhelming majority. Also, most app developers will launch their app first in Apple’s App Store. This means those with phones using the iOS have access to apps sooner than users of other operating systems. Apple has more control over which apps are featured in their App Store. Therefore, some of the more innovative apps do not get into the App store. Apple doesn’t like apps that modify their phones and this is what I like, because you have your phone and you have the right to use it anyhow you want to, but tweakig and giving your privacy data to some of software or app is not tolerable, so hence we prefer iOS app store more then android market.
Given the pros and cons of each app store, it would seem that the best phones would use Apple’s App Store.
