We all have heard that “Content is the king”. But in reality, having amazing content is just a part of the big equation. If you want to make your website or service a big success, you should consider promoting them online. Without a good promotion, even a great piece of content or product may remain unnoticed. The Internet is a great place for promotion. There are hundreds of ways to market a product online. If you run a blog or a website, you should know that user retention is very important to make a successful website. Returning loyal visitors can reduce the bounce rate and increase the conversion rate.

There are several ways to turn a first-time website visitor into a subscriber. You can use email subscription service, web push notification, or text messaging. Web push notification is one of the easiest ways to convert a website visitor into a subscriber. You may have noticed that many websites are now using this method to send updates to their subscribers. In certain cases, web push notification can be more effective compared to an email subscription. Push notifications are instant, the user doesn’t need to open emails to get the update. I recently added web push notification to Web Advices. You might have noticed the little pop-up on the browser when you visited the blog. Today I’m going to show you how to add web push notification to website.

Adding web push notification is very simple using SendPulse. It takes just a few minutes to get started. But before that let me tell you about SendPulse.

What is SendPulse?

SendPulse is an integrated messaging platform for online marketers to promote their services through emails, text messages and web push messages. You can get started by creating your free account on the website. SendPulse offers different ways to create promotional campaigns. You can send bulk email, text, Viber, or web push notifications to your subscribers. SendPulse allows importing existing mailing lists from different services which makes the switching seamless. It also allows creating custom email templates. There are several features to spice up your marketing campaigns.

Add web push notification to your website:

In this article, I’m going to concentrate on the web push notification service. To create your first web push campaign, navigate to the ‘Push’ tab in the SendPulse dashboard. There you will see the ‘Add new website’ button. Once you click on the button, it will ask a few details about your website.

Enter the website address and upload a website image that will be displayed in the web push notification. Here you can also change the subscription request setting. I kept it in the default settings. You can customize it by adding a prompt message.

Now you need to add a script to your website and upload some files to your server. It may sound complicated but trust me it is very easy. First, copy the script link and add it inside the <head> section of your website template. If you are using WordPress, then navigate to Appearance > Editor > Theme Header (header.php). Find the </head> tag and paste the SendPulse script link and click on ‘Update File’.

Next, download the setup files and extract them to the root or home folder of your website. If you are using Cpanel in your web hosting account, then go to the File Manager and navigate to the ‘public_html’ folder and upload the JavaScript (.js) and JSON files which you downloaded from SendPulse. Now you can verify the settings and make sure everything is configured correctly.

Now whenever someone visits your website, they will get a pop-up notification to subscribe. In just one click, they can allow the notification and become a subscriber.

Once you start gaining some subscribers you can send web push notifications to them from SendPulse. A push notification contains a title, body, and image.

SendPulse also allows sending automated push notification to users. It can send series of automated notifications to users once they subscribe for the first time. You can also link to the website’s RSS feed and it will send a push notification to users once new articles are published.

The best part of SendPulse is that the web push notification service is totally free. You can send unlimited push notification to unlimited number of subscribers. There is also a paid version, that allows removing the “Powered by SendPulse” text from the messages. It costs $58.85/month.

SendPulse is a great tool for online marketers to promote and expand their services. Unlike other competitors, SendPulse offers email, text, and web push notification in one place at an affordable price. Their website is simple and easy to use, and they offer lots of tools to tailor your marketing campaign according to your needs. You should give it a try and see how it helps your online promotions.
