Kinivo BTH410 Bluetooth Headphone Review
We recently reviewed Kinivo BTX270 wireless Bluetooth portable speaker on the blog. Today we have another Kinivo product for review. This is Kinivo BTH410, an over the ear Bluetooth wireless headphone. One of the most interesting feature of Kinivo BTH410 is that it supports aptX wireless Bluetooth technology. If you don’t know what aptX is? Let me tell you that it provides high quality CD like audio streaming, less audio delay and overall improved performance compared to standard Bluetooth connectivity. aptX support is mostly found in high end audio equipments. Most of the high end mobile phones including Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy phones already support aptX audio codec. It can be a big deal if you care about sound quality of wireless headphone.
Kinivo BTX270 is powered by rechargeable battery. Once fully charged it offers 8 hours music playback time or 200 hours standby time. The headphone can be charged via a standard microUSB cable. It doesn’t come with a charger. You can charge it by plugging into the computer using the bundled microUSB cable or just use any microUSB charger and it will work just fine. BTH410 can also be used as wired headphone. There is a 3.5 mm audio cable, once you add the cable you are good to go.
Kinivo BTH410 Review
Design and build quality:
I find the design of Kinivo BTH410 somewhat conservative. It doesn’t try hard to distinguish itself from the crowd of similar headphones. It is just another black over the head headphone. But it’s not a bad thing either, because not everyone loves to wear bright colored headphones. While this can be a reason of disappointment for some users I don’t think looks is the main factor when buying a headphone.
Kinivo BTH410 is not a very light weight headphone, it has some kind of heft to it. The build quality is decent, it feels solid in the hands. The headphone can be folded so it can be carried easily in bags. Sadly, Kinivio has not included any carrying case with the headphone. The outer surface of the headphone has a glossy black finish. While it looks nice I’m not very fond of it. Because it picks fingerprints and smudges easily and can get scratched if you are not very careful about it. So keep a microfiber cloth handy all the time and a carrying case is also recommended.
It is very comfortable to wear the headphone for a long period of time. Media and volume control buttons are placed on the right side of the headphone. When connected using the Bluetooth you can control volume and skip tracks or play and pause music using the buttons. The same button can be used to power on or off the headphone and pair with a new device. I didn’t face any difficulties using the headphones with different devices. Kinvio added a flat style 3.5 mm audio cable with the headphone. I’m really happy to see flat cable as it doesn’t tangle easily. And the audio cable has nice design too.
Audio Quality:
Audio quality is where Kinivo BTH410 shines. The first time when I put on the headphone, I was really surprised with the audio performance. It sounds clear and has plenty of bass too. Low, mid and high tones sound good. The sound quality doesn’t distort at high volume. This headphone is suitable to enjoy all kinds of music. It is an affordable Bluetooth headphone, I don’t think there are many headphones which sounds this good. It sounds great when connected through Bluetooth too. Thanks to the aptX audio codec support. It worked great with my aptX enabled mobile phone. The built-in microphone works well during hands free phone calls.
Verdict:
Kinivo BTH410 is a solid performer when it comes to audio quality. The design of the headphone might not appeal to everyone. However, if you care about audio quality then you should check out this headphone. I’m sure you not be disappointed. The best thing about this headphone is that it is quite affordable; it offers great value for money. Kinivo BTH410 has a retail price of $79.99. It is currently selling on Amazon for only $55.
