Android has emerged as a great mobile gaming platform. People have left the PlayStation Portable and now Android gaming is everywhere. New startups like OUYA are making Android based gaming consoles. There are some powerful devices that can handle some serious 3D Gaming on Android like Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One X, Google Nexus 7 and Asus Transformer Tablets. Some people are interested to know about how to play Android games on Windows computer. I am here to tell you that you cannot play all the Android games on PC but there are some famous games like Temple Run, Where’s My Water and Cut the Rope have been ported to Windows. Some games like Angry Birds is now available for computer and Google Chrome browser as well.

To play Android games on computer you will need to Install BlueStack -an Android Emulator to run games on. In our earlier article we shared a guide on how to run Android application and games on computer using YouWave. At that time YouWave was a freeware but now YouWave has become a paid software, so in this article I’m going to tell how to play popular Android games and apps on computer for free using BlueStack.

What is BlueStack?

BlueStack provide an environment to play Android Games on PC. It has all the frameworks and a cloud connected system to run Android apps and games on PC. BlueStack can be called an emulator as it does not emulate any specific Android phone or Tablet.

How to Install BlueStack on Windows:

1. Download the BlueStack latest build from this link. Double click the executable file and it will start installing.

2. Go ahead with Onscreen instructions and you can complete the installation. The PC will be restarted and the BlueStack service will start from Next boot.

3. Open BlueStacks, search for the Application you want to install, you will get a few games like Angry Bird, Fruit Ninja and Temple Run on the repository. Once you find the app click install.

4. It will take a few minutes to download and install the game. You will be able to launch and play the game, you will need to use your Keyboard and mouse.

We have tested Bluestack on our PC and there are some HD games available and seems to be working fine. You can Play Temple Run, Angry Birds Space, Fruit Ninja, Roll in the Hole, Sleepy Jack, World of Goo, Paper Zombie, Gorilla Bob, Vengeful Samurai.

Keep in mind that you need a powerful computer to run all Android games on computer smoothly. Some games need special keyboard and mouse combination to play, for example to play Temple Run on computer you can use left mouse button to control the left, right, up, down movement and sliding control can be done using left and right arrow key on the keyboard.

Latest Bluestack update: Now, Mac OS X users can enjoy Android apps too, Bluestack is now available for Mac users as well. But right now BlueStacks will be releasing the alpha version that will not be able to too many apps but will be handling the Basic apps and Games. Mac version is pretty bare featured when compared to the BlueStacks on Windows.
