Google is all set to make their cloud based storage Google Drive more popular and competitive. They are improving it by introducing new features and enhancements. A few months ago, Google introduced Public shared folder. Now they are extending its capability by allowing to publish website from Google Drive storage. Now users can host and publish simple web pages from Google Drive. The web page can be accessed by anyone who has the direct link to that page. Publishing simple websites from cloud storage in not new. The same thing can be done using Dropbox using some 3rd party tools.

Before you think to host a full website or a blog from Google Drive, let me tell you that there are some limitations. This is not a full-fledged web hosting service. It can serve only static web pages containing static elements like HTML, CSS and images. There is no option to add a custom domain name to that website hosted by Google Drive. It has support for JavaScript and other client side scripting languages. You can run JavaScript applications from Google Drive directly.
